Heir to the Heart
Before us now is the Legend of legends. The Heir itself. The mead that started and will continue us in many ways. A mead with a legacy beyond its impeccable profile. Before us is the Heir to the Heart! A mead that needs no explanation for many, heard of in whispers and stories for many years now. This mead itself carries a weight beyond my mere words here, now. All I can say is welcome back to the beginning and say hello to our favorite friend! Needless to say, after all of this cryptic fanfare, this mead is a favorite of ours, and now it’s back for us to enjoy! Hoorays and huzzahs indeed! Let’s begin!
As my nose goes to embrace this mead, I recall the first time I smelled it, and now I will compare: Remarkably similar, if not the same! I was so taken aback I lost my words to explain it! It’s a deep, rich, and husky fruit nose. Like a full-bodied red wine without the wine tannin, a hidden sweetness. Further inspections of the nose reveal the tart currant blending with the numerous dark berry undertones. It’s a perfect recreation, from what I remember!
Now. Now for the taste. Tart, tannic, sweet, and robust. It’s a deep fruit flavor; an acrobatic act of balancing currant, black raspberry, and sweeter fruits, weaving it together in harmony. Further sips encompass the black currant and black raspberry. Too rich in fruit with the sweetness from the honey barely melding with the sweeter fruits. I could go on and on about its balance of dryness and tartness and, yes, while possibly a touch drier than before, a remarkable recreation. It’s ready for you. Enjoy~
