Mead Details:

 This mead was made using local cider from Nemeth Orchards. We used Mexican Wildflower Honey for this one.  

We then added a ton of pureed ginger and delicious blueberry concentrate.  

The yeast we used was QA23.

This mead was about 9 months old before bottling.

What was once a fun experiment, the Electric Dreams now gets its bottle debut! Made from a beloved autumn mead of ours, Dreaming Tree, the Electric Dreams satisfies that hit of ginger with a fruity compliment that hits well for all seasons! At least, that’s what I remember from when this lovely mead was on tap

The initial nose hits with a sharp (dare I say electric? No? Okay.) mixture of the ginger spice and the sweet berry notes of the blueberry. Opening it up reveals notes of blueberry skin, like fruit tannin, thanks to the backing of the ginger. It’s simple and elegant with an inviting complexity

But now what I’m really here for: the taste. Fruit elegance came to me right off the first sip. For those that have had the Electric Dreams before on tap be prepared for a less perceived sweet and a focus on that blueberry. The ginger balances out a smooth flavor of gently sweet blueberry, backed up by apple sweetness and harmonized with the ginger. The Dreams is nearly tart here, earthy from the ginger, subtly spicy but woven into a delightful experience.
