Planted in 1941, the Vorce family orchard included long-forgotten apple varieties, including Wagner, Courtland, Northern Spy, Russet, Baldwin, and Kirby Delicious.

Maniacal’s Patrick Echlin spent the last several years trimming the Vorce orchard’s trees to get them back to optimal performance. Without the assistance of chemicals or even irrigation, 2020’s crop was about 50% larger than 2019’s (think Serpent’s Deed and Apple Apocalypse).

Thanks to an improving apple yield, Patrick and Maniacal decided it was time to do a straight-up cyser. Clocking in at 15% ABV, this beauty uses clover honey to augment the 1941 orchard’s apple cider flavors.
